Dr. Art Coday, a conservative Republican, announced today that he has entered the 2012 United States Senate race.

"People are tired of elected leaders who care more about their own political careers than they do about the people they are elected to represent and the Constitution they take an oath to uphold," said Coday. "They are tired of elected leaders who fail to solve today's problems today, instead passing them on to future generations. As taxpayers, many of whom are losing their jobs, homes, and businesses, they are tired of elected leaders who require them to bail out banks, large corporations, and selected special interests. As taxpayers they are tired of footing the bill for "stimulus" spending when they would prefer to keep the money they earn."

Dr. Coday is a primary care physician who sees mainly Medicare, Medicaid, and uninsured patients. He does this by making home visits. Dr. Coday says that his patients are generally elderly, poor, or disabled, and they appreciate the fact that he travels to them. Dr. Coday is alarmed at the poor condition of Medicare and Medicaid, a situation made worse by the recent federal health care act known as the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act." He says the name is an oxymoron, because the act has increased cost and put patients at risk, especially those on Medicare and Medicaid. He says Medicare and Medicaid must be fixed and the unconstitutional act repealed.

"Being a physician is all about serving others and providing aid, comfort, and healing to those who are sick or injured. Sometimes, it requires emergent intervention. For example, when your patient is bleeding to death, you must immediately stop the bleeding. Right now, America has a severed artery, fiscally speaking. Stopping the massive fiscal hemorrhage at the federal level, i.e. cutting spending, is my prescription for stabilizing this great but ailing nation. Once stable, we can begin the process of restoring America back to her traditionally robust health. When we do, the jobs and prosperity will return."

Dr. Coday says that authentic political leadership, at its most basic level, is the ability and the commitment to unselfishly serve the country, the state, and the people.

"Many Washingtonians and people all across our great republic are weary of the Obama Administration and the leaders of the Democrat Party who seem to scorn our traditional American political, economic, social, and religious values. Incumbent Democrat Senator Maria Cantwell, my opponent, has not only been a consistent supporter of the massive fiscal hemorrhage of America, but she scores a perfect 100/100 rating by an extreme environmental group. Have you wondered why your energy costs are so high and the Obama Administration, with the support of Senator Cantwell, is going out of its way to block development of new sources of energy? She also scores 100/100 with a radically pro-abortion group and an anti-Second Amendment organization. By contrast, having failed to provide badly needed leadership to secure our borders, which is necessary to protect America's national security, it is not a surprise she scores a 0/100 with the organization U.S. Border Control (Click here to read more.). As a U.S. Senator, she has shown little or no tolerance for those of us who do not subscribe to her ultra-liberal political agenda."

"Our foundational American values have limited the scope and size of government; respected the unalienable right to life, even for the least among us; encouraged personal responsibility; built a strong sense of family and community; brought prosperity through free enterprise; achieved peace through strength; and have made America exceptional. Unfortunately, these great American values appear lacking in the political philosophy of President Obama and Senator Cantwell."

"People are searching for leadership that is confidently pro-America and pro-liberty. They want leadership that is authentic, principled, courageous, experienced, informed, in touch with everyday people and with reality, willing to listen, and willing to serve. They want leadership that will unite us, not divide us. They want leadership that will restore faith in the American Dream and optimism about our future. I am ready for the challenge."
